Make Memphis your classroom. Learn to serve.

College students – campus ministries, churches, student organizations, church groups, and individual college students – come from all over the United States to partner with us in the mission of SOS to demonstrate and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through home repair.

Groups come for one-week to partner with homeowners and repair homes in the Binghampton and Orange Mound neighborhoods of Memphis. We hope to instill a heart for proclaiming the gospel in word and deed as students serve others in the name of Christ.

Why come to SOS?

SOS Spring Break provides a phenomenal off-campus “classroom” for college students engage in an alternative spring break project where they will develop relationships cross-culturally and serve in tangible ways which demonstrate the sacrificial love and service of Jesus Christ.

SOS seeks to make this a simple process for campus leaders. As a campus leader, you are mainly responsible for just getting your students here! We take care of the rest. Housing, check. Food, check. Worship and teaching, check. Devotions, check. Home repair materials and tools, check. Fun, check.

We know you want to get your students out of their comfort zone and into the realities of urban poverty in America. We seek to make this as simple of a Spring Break project as possible, while still providing you with meaningful opportunities to partner with homeowners and neighbors in Memphis as you serve them through a ministry of providing vital home repair. In just five weeks of SOS Spring Break, we see college students leverage their lives to get a lot of quality home repair done, while also seeing God transform lives and catalyze them into a life of others-oriented service in the pattern of our Lord Jesus.
