SOS exists to glorify God by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ in underserved neighborhoods through home repair and leadership development.
What We Do
Mobilization
SOS provides opportunities for the Church to engage in ministry among people living in underserved neighborhoods.
Community Ministry
SOS provides leadership development and job training opportunities for youth as well as critical home repairs for homeowners in our partner neighborhoods.
Equipping
SOS trains and equips servant leaders to care for those who are marginalized.
How We Do It
Camps
SOS hosts spring and summer home repair service camps for college, middle school, and high school students.
Internships
SOS facilitates summer ministry internships for college-age young adults as well as a nine-month community development residency for young adults.
Leadership Development
Through several youth empowerment initiatives, SOS serves as a platform for developing leaders, both from within our partner neighborhoods and beyond.
Values
The Gospel
The Gospel of Jesus Christ - the reality that Jesus came to reconcile all things to himself - is the end goal and motivation in all we do.
Dignity
We believe all people are created in the image of God and therefore have inherent value and worth.
Relationship
We believe all people need each other – rich and poor alike.
Empowerment
We are committed to never doing for others what they have the capacity to do for themselves.
Community
In our work we pursue a neighborhood-based approach through partnerships and proximity.
