What is the difference between SOS:Binghampton and SOS114?
SOS:Binghampton is housed out of the SOS facility with a weekly capacity of 185. SOS:Binghampton staffers wear the red and white SOS shirts and work in the neighborhoods of Binghampton and The Heights.
SOS 114 is housed out of Union Avenue Baptist Church, in a dedicated space leased by SOS each summer, with a weekly capacity of 60. SOS114 staffers wear the navy and orange SOS shirts and work in the Orange Mound neighborhood.
Both camps have almost identical schedules and structures, and share the same devotional material. All camp staff are trained together and coached and managed closely by the SOS Full-Time Staff.
What do we bring?
Each volunteer needs to bring:
bedding (sleeping bag or twin sheets) & pillow
any personal items
Each group is responsible for their own transportation. SOS will provide all tools, materials and personal protective equipment needed on the worksite. Please feel free to keep your tools at home! A complete list of what to bring will be emailed to you after your registration is received.
How do I register?
Registration opens on the first Thursday of October (Thursday, October 4, 2018) at 10:00 AM CST.
SOS offers online registration with credit card payment.
Groups can also register for camp with a check by filling out a printable application. Email Kelly for more information.

When do we arrive and leave?
SOS camps begin on Sunday and end on Saturday.
Arrival: 3:00-4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.
Departure: by 9:00am on Saturday morning.
How much does it cost?
A week at SOS:Binghampton costs $365/person. SOS114 costs $320/person. The cost covers housing, meals, materials, tools, programming, and an SOS camp t-shirt. Please see the SOS payment contract for more details.
Who supervises the participants?
SOS will notify you of the number of work teams for your group. Each work team will consist of approximately 6-7 students and 1 adult volunteer (age 21 years or older) from your group. An SOS Staffer will host each team on the worksites.
Your adult leaders will provide evening supervision, including during lights out. Our Full-Time Staff and Summer Staff will provide programming, construction, and additional evening supervision.
What do we do at night?
Every evening there will be a chapel time filled with worship, fun, and a Christ-centered message. We want each participant to hear a clear presentation of God’s intent for and invitation to us as His image bearers, redeemed by Jesus Christ.
Every Wednesday is a half day of camp. Your group will be free that afternoon and evening to enjoy our city (dinner will not be provided by SOS on Wednesday night).
Who are the Summer Staff?
SOS hires approximately 50 college age men and women from around the country to serve as camp staff in Binghampton and Orange Mound.
