Meet the Newest Member of our Team

SOS welcomes Kelly Pitts to our full time staff team!

Kelly will join our team starting December 4th as our new Program Director. She will handle all recruiting, registering, and communicating with all our volunteer groups as well as planning and overseeing camp programming.

Kelly is a life-long Memphian.  She graduated from White Station High School in Memphis and has a BS in International Trade from Auburn University. Most recently, she has been working with Power & Telephone Supply and Madison Group doing engineer support and international purchasing. While she has never served with SOS before, she has extensive camp experience - serving two summers and an entire semester as a Young Life camp volunteer and staffer.  She has also served for a semester with Word Made Flesh in Bolivia, working with vulnerable woman and children in poverty.  Kelly is an active member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Memphis and volunteers weekly with Multinational Ministries.

Here's what Kelly said when I asked her about why she is excited to join the SOS team:

I am so thrilled to be accepting the Program Director position at SOS.  An opportunity to love and serve a really specific and special community has been a hope of my heart for a long time. I am very thankful to SOS for the chance to realize that hope among a staff and community that execute their vision with humility and compassion. I'm excited to dive into the SOS culture and experience camp in Binghampton for the first time! All the joys of camp in an urban context, what a dream!!

Kelly is full of energy, passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ, loves serving others, and loves Memphis.  We are thrilled to have her join our team and can't wait for the rest of you to meet her soon!
