Re-Introducing Emily Gluntz - Homeowner Relations Extraordinaire!

by Kelly Pitts Sometimes we at SOS get the distinct pleasure of extending the stewardship of the talent which our Lord graciously sends our way. We are so thankful to get to work alongside and do life with our friend and sister, Emily Gluntz. It is my joy to re-introduce our Academy Intern turned Homeowner Relations Coordinator!

We were first introduced to Emily last summer as she considered signing on for the SOS Academy, our one-year urban ministry internship. She actually spent some of her childhood in the Southeast corner of Binghampton on Highland Park Place just down the road from one of the homeowners we were able to partner with this summer!

Following her father’s career path, the Gluntz family moved east to Nashville, then north to Indianapolis where Emily spent the majority of her adolescence and her early adult years. One of ten kids, Emily is bright, industrious, with talent to boot. In Indianapolis, she faithfully pursued Jesus and his call to justice among the poor, leaving beauty and peace in her wake. Starting and building her own photography business right out of high school, Fernweh Photography, Emily is a one-of-a-kind, creative, visionary, self-starter.

Thankfully, after working for a ministry in Indiana for a few years, she hopped aboard the Academy train pursuing the long-awaited opportunity to serve back in the home of her youth. The Lord, in his great and mysterious faithfulness continues to draw talented, passionate hearts to Memphis and we praise Him for that! The 2014-2015 Academy class worked hard to act justly, love mercy and walk in humility following our Savior. Emily’s hard-working spirit blessed us at SOS and her warm hospitality enriched Princeton Avenue and the whole of Binghampton and Orange Mound.

We are thrilled to be able to keep her on for another year! She will be lending her compassion and administrative talent to helping us utilize a partnership grant called Aging In Place. Emily will be allowed the flexibility to work at SOS and continue to create beautiful images for her photography customers including engagements, weddings, family/lifestyle sessions and portraits.
