ReFrame Conference
Last week we had the privilege to participate in the 3rd Annual ReFrame Conference in Johnson City, TN.
ReFrame is a network of volunteer-based home repair and home rehab organizations throughout the United States. Each year they host an annual conference to:
- Share best practices
- Learn new and innovative ideas
- Connect with each other
- Identify ways to collaborate
It was such a great conference for us. For one, we were able to discuss challenging topics that all of us face like community engagement, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, etc. We learned from each other and came back with some new ideas and tools to help make SOS better.
But perhaps the best part of the conference was connecting with some incredible people. We had no idea there were so many non-profit volunteer-based home repair organizations out there! It was so encouraging to worship together, share struggles and successes, and to learn from each other.
In all there were 25 organizations represented. Some of the organizations we connected with include Appalachia Service Project (ASP), Christian Appalachian Project, Mountain T.O.P., Carolina Cross Connection, Sierra Service Project, ReWiGo Ministries, and Confrontation Point Ministries (soon to be "Adventure Serve"), just to name a few. They are all doing great work.
We praise God for all the ways He is working to bring His Kingdom on earth!
