Summer Update

It's hard to believe that the summer is moving so fast!  God is doing great things at SOS.  Here is a brief update on some exciting things that have happened:

  • At least 3 high school students have put their faith in Jesus this summer at SOS!  Praise God!
  • SOS is currently repairing 34 roofs.
  • SOS is hosting 3 camps that are strategically working in 3 different neighborhoods in Memphis: Binghampton, Orange Mound, and Alcy Ball.
  • Camps are being led by 54 SOS summer staffers who are from 18 different states.
  • So far, we've had about 621 campers from 9 different states: Ohio, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, Texas, Virginia, Michigan, and Indiana.
  • Homeowners are being empowered and neighborhoods transformed.

Please continue to pray for SOS.  We will host several hundred more campers over the course of the next few weeks.  We'll continue to build relationships in Binghampton, Orange Mound, and Alcy Ball.  Pray that SOS would do quality work that reflects the love of Christ.  Pray that we will be faithful to clearly proclaim the gospel in both word and deed, and that God will bring people to faith in Jesus.
