Alumni Dispatch #8: R-A-I-N-C-H-E-C-K! What does it spell?

HEY EVERYBODY!

Well, we’re bummed…

NO EBC REUNION WEEKEND THIS FALL.

It’s become abundantly clear that our greatest opportunity to serve our beloved neighbors right now is to NOT invite travelers to come in and among and NOT to host a big, raucous weekend gathering here in Memphis during the COVID realities we’re facing.

We had visions of meals shared, bunk rooms bustling, the big, ol’ building full again and doing so with the felt safety we were anticipating after hints of it in late spring and early summer. Sadly, that felt safety is gone again.

Instead of reinventing, we’re choosing to reschedule.

With a family like ours, we’d rather wait and go big than create complicated contingency plans longer than a summer staff handbook.

Pause. Deep breath.

There are things to celebrate and ways to celebrate them safely. To that end, we’re excited to ship some of the swag and goodies we were so eager to share at the EBC reunion right to your door. Look for that box of SOS love to show up at your door just before we get into the holiday season.

And, please hear loud and clear: canceled for September, but to be rescheduled! We’re a little leary to claim a date, but the vision of having our people back under our big ol’ roof will propel us back into action when the coast is clear-er!
