Camper Testimony

A week at camp is absolutely crazy! From doing the Turbo Shuffle in the morning to de-shingling a plane on a roof in the Memphis heat, God is continuously working. We asked campers to share how God has changed them during their week of camp and the responses were amazing. One camper in particular, Jenny*, shared her testimony with us. Jenny talked about how she grew up not knowing much about the gospel. She had no plans of coming to SOS, but a close friend invited her. She came full of questions and God provided answers. Jenny recalled her first chapel experience at SOS by saying,

“I went into this not knowing what to expect because I have never been to a chapel or worship in my life. The first song came on, and I heard the most beautiful sounds of God filling the room. I felt the holy spirit seep into my skin it gave me goosebumps from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet.”

It’s awesome that God showed up for her on Sunday and Jenny shared how she felt God’s presence everyday since then. On the worksite she says she felt “God’s hand on her back” and that she was thankful she got to serve under God.

Jenny says she realized God was always going to be there for her and that she could give all her problems to him and he would take care of it. After leaving SOS Jenny informed us that:

“ God has been my number one priority since SOS. I have never felt the sensation of a true connection with Christ and I have it now. I  have really opened my eyes to his unending love.”
